Chthonic fire is the soul core of the Stilkeen. It is sometimes referred to as white-ice fire and was first discovered by Yalkara within an exploded comet in the void. Separating the Stilkeen from its soul core, caused the higher parts of its being to become detached from its physical form and it is constantly seeking to have the chthonic fire returned to it. Chthonic fire has the innate ability to move with ease between the realms and is hence the ideal power source to create gates.
