Appearance and designEdit
They were mechanical war carts, also known as armopeds, that varied in type. They had six, eight or rarely ten or twelve legs. They usually included a shooter's platform upon which were a catapult and a javelard.
Riding in one was very uncomfortable (hence the name clanker) and was near impossible to sleep in making journeying in them highly unlikeable.
They were powered by the field through a controller which the operator is specially tuned to which, in turn, links to the driving mechanism which moves the machine. If the field was interupted, emergency power could be accessed from fly wheels for where it was stored.
