Yalkara, also known derogatorily as the Mistress of Deceits and the Demon Queen, was a member of the Hundred Charon, who escaped the void and took control of Aachan. She was the youngest of the Charon and considered to be the second most powerful Charon mancer, after Rulke.

The lover of Gyllias, Yalkara gave birth to his daughter Aeolior, who would eventually be kidnapped by Yalkara's lifelong nemesis Faelamor and forced to breed with her son, resulting in a triune; Maigraith. Yalkara also secretly mated with her enemy, Rulke, while in the Nightland, resulting in a fullblooded Charon son, Emberr.

It was Yalkara who gave the Charon the opportunity to flee the void, by using Chthonic fire; the soul-core of the Stilkeen. This folly caused the trouble of all the Three Worlds, though in her final moments Yalkara willingly sacrificed her life to make amends for the damage she had caused.

The Council of Santhenar was the ruling body of Santhenar, headed by the Magister, for thousands of years. The major purpose of the Council was to find a way to banish Rulke and the rest of the Charon from Santhenar for all time. It also served to keep watch on the Nightland.

Some fifty years after the breaking of the Forbidding, the Council struggled to create a united front against the invading lyrinx. At this time, the shadowy Numinator stepped in and killed many mancers, dissolving the Council into the Council of Scrutators.
