The Nightland was an ethereal place, created by the Council of Santhenar, to imprison Rulke. It served as Rulke's prison for approximately a thousand years, until his escape during the Time of the Mirror. The Nightland was maintained secretly by Yalkara for a further two hundred and twenty years, so as to keep safe her secret son, Emberr.
