Troist was the general of the armies of Almadin in the later years of the Lyrinx War, who gained this rank, as well as that of commander-in-chief of Central Almadin, after the lyrinx attack on Nilkerrand. He was the husband of Yara and the father of Meriwen and Liliwen. After Cryl-Nish Hlar, saved the lives of his daughters, he appointed Hlar as his personal envoy to the Aachim of Aachan. However, this had disastorous results.
General Troist later came into contact with Hlar again, who was accompanied by Scrutator Xervish Flydd. Though Flydd had recently been ousted by the Council of Scrutators, Troist pledged his support to the scrutator, and aided in the later stages of the battle of Gumby Marth.
Instrumental in the success of the battle of Borgistry and later the commander of the ground troops of the battle of Ashmode, Troist gained a vote at a meet to decide the fate of the lyrinx. Troist was one of few delegates who voted against the extermination of the lyrinx. Troist fled after Jal-Nish Hlar rose to power; though he was killed after attempting to escape imprisonment
