Yggur was a very powerful mancer, who was over twelve hundred years old, due to his unknown connection to pure chthonic fire. He was once a member of the Council of Santhenar, however he was betrayed by the Council and Mendark, in particular, who allowed Rulke to posess his mind, during the Proscribed Experiments used to trap Rulke in the Nightland.
Much later, after having regained his sanity and much of his great Arts, Yggur took up control of the fortress of Fiz Gorgo and proceeded to conquer the southern end of Meldorin Island. Much of this was due to having come into posession of the Mirror of Aachan. The Mirror was eventually stolen by Maigraith and Karan Fyrn. However Yggur proceeded to conquer even Thurkad, though he gave up all of his empire after the Time of the Mirror.
Yggur would later play an instrumental role in the later days of the Lyrinx War and would be forced to go on the run after the God-Emperor Jal-Nish Hlars ascension to power, before being captured by the Numinator and imprisoned for seven years, his Art's being tapped by the mysterious Numinator to maintain her realm. Fortunatly, Yggur was rescued by his old allies and able to survive the ensuing war, though at the cost of his Art and longevity.

Early Life
Edit
Yggur was born some years before 1,006 BTM near to the end of the Clysm, to an old human woman and the third greatest of the Charon, Kandor. Kandor immediatly recognized that his son possessed a brilliant gift for mancery; far greater than even his. Long ago Kandor had fallen out with his close friend Yalkara over her taking of chthonic fire from Stilkeen, and could not protect the Three Worlds or force Yalkara to return the fire as she was far more powerful than even him. As such, he created a taphloid and invested within it lessons to Yggur on how to master the Secret Art and to protect Santhenar from Stilkeen in case something happened to him.
Unfortunatly, Kandor was killed whilst Yggur was still a young boy, and left destitute, Yggur's mother sold the taphloid as she was not aware of its importance. In addition, she dare not reveal to anyone, even him, who Yggur's father was, as he had played a significant role throughout the devastating Clysm. Sometime throughout the war or perhaps even before hand, Kandor had taken pure chthonic fire and hidden it within Yggur's taphloid whilst leaving Yalkara with the corrupted version and though he was not aware of it, having been a young boy when he first held the taphloid, the pure fire within it fuelled Yggur's great Art's and lended him extaordinary long life even though it was lost to him.
